SISMAS DAY – GATHER YOUR GIRLFRIENDS!
It’s official: National SISMAS Day has been added to the calendar. Created by Simone I. Smith, the iconic Queen of Hoop Earrings and wife of hip-hop legend LL COOL J, the holiday began as an intimate gathering with her sisters and friends and has since evolved into a nationwide tradition.
This annual observance celebrates sisterhood and friendship, honoring the powerful bonds between women during the holiday season. Now recognized as a National Day, SISMAS will be celebrated each year on the second Saturday of December, with the inaugural event on Saturday, December 14, 2024.
This year Simone invites everyone to join the celebration by bringing your best girlfriends, mothers, sisters, aunties, or any women who inspire you to the table. Check out some fun ways to celebrate SISMAS this year!
- Choose a fun theme – Simone’s SISMAS theme this year is Cowgirl (hey Cowboy Carter!)
- Bring games for everyone to enjoy – Simone’s favorite is left, right, center!
- Raffle off gifts to your BFFs
- Lastly, enjoy the company of the empowering women in your life
Make this December 14th unforgettable by embracing the spirit of SISMAS. It’s not just a holiday; it’s a movement that celebrates the joy, resilience, and love that women bring into each other’s lives.
