Here’s what it looked like when it was just an idea…

Drawn by Rachel, Midnight Velvet designer.

Artfully sketched by one of our in-house designers, the Lily Cutwork Shirt is special. It was designed exclusively for the feminine, confident woman. And because it’s made for Midnight Velvet customers by Midnight Velvet designers, you won’t see it everywhere you go (like so many mass-produced, fad-inspired fashions).

Are you prepared to make an elegant entrance…and exit?

The Lily Cutwork Shirt has a gentle A-line shape that floats away from the body and ends in a dramatic high-low hem (flowing and long in back). How pretty is that!

With its alluring sheer cotton fabric and boutique details…

FIVE STAR REVIEW

Love this blouse!

“This is officially one of my most favorite blouses ever! It can be dressed up or down. It is flowy. The back hangs down long, and the front is long too…The cut-out design is beautiful, and whatever you wear underneath shows through beautifully.”

What do our designers have to say about this very special creation?

Let’s ask them!

What inspired the Lily Cutwork Shirt?

ASHLEY: The Caroline Shirt! Our customers loved this shirt so much that we asked ourselves how we could give her something like it, but different.

Did you design the Lily Cutwork with a boutique look in mind?

KIRSTIE: Absolutely! We decided to create a very unique eyelet with intricate floral and geometric cutwork and embroidery. The fact that it’s oversized makes it really different.

RACHEL: And we chose a cotton that’s a bit more sheer and breezy—great for summer and layering.

How should she wear or style it?

ASHLEY: It’s an easy outfit to put together. Pair it with a cami on top. Go with leggings, slim capris or skinny jeans on the bottom. If you want to show off your waist, add a belt.

KIRSTIE: For shoes, if it’s colder outside, you could wear tall black boots with a heel. If it’s warmer, go with high-heeled sandals. Taking it from day to night is super easy, too. Just change into dressier shoes and add blingy statement jewelry.

RACHEL: It could even make a really cool swimsuit cover-up!
